Congress is about to take aim at one of the legal profession's most powerful bodies as it readies a hearing this week on whether the American Bar Association has weaponized its sway over law school accreditations to force diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices in admissions and coursework, Just the News has learned. Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee's Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Constitutional Abuses, has scheduled a hearing Wednesday on “The Future of DEI in Law School Accreditation and the Legal Profession.”

The Department of Justice on Monday announced that it had begun the process of denaturalizing 10 criminals with prior convictions and/or pending charges. The 10 individuals hail from Cuba, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, and Poland. Their charges include sexual abuse, fraud, drug trafficking, and other crimes.

Taylor Farms said that the Food and Drug Administration informed the company that a lettuce sample found to have a parasite linked to an outbreak that has made thousands of people ill was the result of a false positive.  "Yesterday, FDA informed Taylor Fresh Foods that one of its iceberg lettuce products from central Mexico had a 'confirmed positive' test for Cyclospora. Today, we were informed that FDA made a mistake, and this was a false positive," the company said in a statement on Sunday. 

A federal judge on Monday ordered Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery to pause their $81 billion merger for at least two weeks.  This will allow states that are challenging the deal more time for their case to make their way through court, the Associated Press reported. 

Intelligence community files released by the White House claim that China paid American journalists, social media influencers, and leveraged relationships with American businesses in order to sabotage President Donald Trump during his first term in the White House, with a CIA document claiming the foreign government went as far as to pay journalists to print negative articles. In a Thursday speech delivered to the nation, Trump cited a CIA document that showed the agency determined, beginning in 2019, China "sought to identify U.S. journalists who had reported negatively on the U.S. president and pay them large sums of money to write more negative articles about him," adding that the adversarial government "wanted the U.S. president to lose the next election.

American technological infrastructure is the building block for our modern lives. Others, tragically, thanks to a very similar hysteria, set America back on the nuclear energy front by half a century. Today, the NIMBY fight is over a big warehouse full of computer servers, known as a data center, and whether America can keep building the physical machinery that runs our new innovation age.

The Homeland Security Department found more than a quarter million illegal aliens were registered to vote in four states – California, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to a review the agency conducted on publicly available data.  The finding is detailed in a memo titled “PREVENTING ALIEN VOTING” obtained by Just the News on Thursday ahead of President Donald Trump’s speech about election integrity.

Arrests by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency have spiked in the last few weeks, with a daily average hitting 1,400 people.  The pace of ICE arrests in the first 12 days of July sets the Trump administration on track to reach the highest number of arrests in a single month, the Washington Post reported. 

Nearly two-thirds of Minnesota 11th graders are below grade level in math, and the class of 2025 posted the worst academic performance on record for a graduating cohort even as it earned the highest graduation rate ever. As measured by the state’s Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment, the spring 2025 proficiency results reflect the percentage of juniors meeting the state’s academic math standards, which include content students must “satisfactorily complete” by the time they graduate. (Seventy-seven percent of 11th graders statewide took the test.)
