Emerson College Polling and The Hill published results of a poll on Wednesday revealing how likely voters in Ohio would vote in the 2024 U.S. Senate race.

In the Republican primary election, the poll shows Ohio State Senator Matt Dolan (R-Chagrin Falls) with a 3-point lead over businessman Bernie Moreno and a 10-point lead over Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

Dolan (pictured above, right) received 26 percent of the vote compared to Moreno’s 23 percent and LaRose’s 16 percent.

However, a total of 32 percent of voters remain undecided.

“I’ve always said, polls go up and down, but what’s consistent is my focus on Ohio,” Dolan wrote in an X post on Wednesday. “That’s why I’m working to EARN the support of my fellow Republicans. 6 days left. Join us. Let’s win on Tuesday, beat Sherrod Brown in November and take back our country!”

Dolan’s lead in Wednesday’s poll is notable as the candidate placed third place behind Moreno (pictured above, middle) and LaRose (pictured above, right)  in January and second place behind LaRose in November 2023.

“Overall, Dolan is the third candidate to lead the Republican Primary ballot this year in Emerson polls: LaRose led in November, Moreno surged in January, and now Dolan has voters’ attention,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said in a statement. “The shifting dynamics have left a significant number of voters undecided with less than a week until election day.”

Despite Dolan’s lead in the Republican primary, U.S. incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) continues to lead Dolan, Moreno, and LaRose in head-to-head matchups.

Brown leads Dolan by three points (37 percent-33 percent), Moreno by five points (39 percent-34 percent), and LaRose by six points (39 percent-33 percent).

Ohio’s primary election will take place on March 19. Early voting runs through Sunday, March 17.
