On Sunday, a group of over 3,000 illegal aliens began a protest march that started in southern Mexico and will march to the north to end at the border between Mexico and the United States.

According to Politico, the march is in protest against the use of illegal alien detention centers, one of which caught fire last month in an incident that led to the deaths of approximately 40 illegals. The mob of illegals, which started its march in Tapachula along the Guatemalan border, will head for Mexico City, to demand that the government put an end to the use of such facilities.

“It could well have been any of us,” said one Salvadoran illegal. “In fact, a lot of our countrymen died. The only thing we are asking for is justice, and to be treated like anyone else.”

However, the “protest march” is considered by many to be just a cover for the swarm of illegals to then cross the border into the United States. Among the gathering are illegals from Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia, and Ecuador, among other countries. The Mexican government has used several tactics, including strict paperwork requirements and highway checkpoints, to stem the flow of traffic by illegals in Tapachula, hoping to dissuade them from continuing the journey through the rest of Mexico.

One of the organizers of the march, Irineo Mujica, said that their goals are to force the Mexican government to dissolve its immigration agency altogether.

Marches to the American border have become more commonplace since Joe Biden took power in the United States, having campaigned in 2020 on a promise to open the border and provide amnesty, as well as numerous taxpayer-funded benefits such free healthcare, housing, and education, to illegals.

Despite the marchers’ stated beliefs, the fire at the detention facility in Ciudad Juarez on March 27th was started by one of the detained illegals, who set fire to his foam mattress out of protest of an alleged transfer. The fire quickly spread, destroying the facility and claiming at least 40 lives. The Venezuelan illegal who started the fire is currently in custody on homicide charges, along with several other immigration officials.
