Neil W. McCabe, the national political editor of The Star News Network, interviewed Paris Dennard, the national spokesman for the Republican National Committee, about the political aftermath after the German media outlet ‘Politico’ leaked the draft of Justice Samuel Alito’s majority opinion in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health case, which would overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

Dennard said the GOP is messaging to faith voters that Republicans can be trusted to protect life, as demonstrated by President Donald J. Trump and his three critical appointments to the Supreme Court.

The spokesman said elections matter and Democrats have already shown that when they have the power they appointed extreme pro-abortion officials and judges and pushed similarly extreme regulations and legislation.

McCabe: When the German media outlet Politico released a draft of Justice Alito’s majority opinion that would overturn the Roe v. Wade decision, it set in motion a chain of political events across the country. Republican National Committee press Secretary Paris Dennard told The Star News Network that that chain of events is working in favor of the Republican Party.

Dennard: From an RNC perspective, what we look at this is twofold. Number one, we’re able to message to our base of supporters who are very concerned about the issue of life and liberty and the fact that for so long Democrats have continued to pass these radical policies and Roe v. Wade has been the law of the land.

McCabe: Dennard said Republicans are leaning into their pro-life messaging to remind voters of faith that elections matter.

Dennard: When you put Republicans in office, Conservative Republicans, like we did with Donald Trump, thanks speed of God, he was able to put three conservative judges on the Supreme Court of the United States. That is some of the things that we’re able to communicate and highlight in order to mobilize our voters who care about this issue and so many other issues that are pertinent to the Supreme Court and the rule of law. Faith voters have already seen what Democrats will do when they control the federal government and the Congress and through appointments, the courts, he said.

Dennard: And when you put in Democrats and Progressives and Liberals into positions of power, they not only pass laws that are so disgusting when it comes to the way they treat the sanctity of life and children and their unborn, but on the presidential level, it’s twofold. One, Democrats get in power, they appoint radical, Liberal activist judges in the Supreme Court.

McCabe: Now that it is likely that the Supreme Court could overturn Roe v. Wade and return abortion to the political process, it is vital to recognize that President Joe Biden is not the moderate he portrays himself to be, Dennard said.

Dennard: Joe Biden goes out of his way to count his Catholic faith and how he’s a staunch Catholic where his positions are in deep contrast to the positions of the Catholic Church.

McCabe: Reporting for The Star News Network, Neil W. McCabe, Washington.
