Atlanta, Georgia – In an exclusive statement obtained by The Georgia Star News, former Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan has endorsed David Perdue in the race for governor of Georgia.

Homan had nothing but harsh words for the incumbent governor, Brian Kemp, in his statement backing Perdue.

“When it comes to dealing with illegal immigration, Kemp has failed the people of Georgia and this country,” said Director Homan. “Kemp told the people of Georgia that he would round up criminal illegals in his pickup truck and deport them, but that turned out to be another empty promise from a career politician,” Homan said. “He took a trip to the southern border for a photo op while ignoring the explosion of illegal immigration in his home state. Sanctuary cities have spread across the state and Kemp remained silent.”

Of Perdue, the former acting Director of ICE said, “David Perdue is a strong conservative leader who will enforce the rule of law. Perdue is the one candidate who can fix Kemp’s mess, and I’m proud to support him.”

Homan has spent 35 years in border enforcement. He’s held positions in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Border Patrol, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Homan joins his former boss, President Donald Trump, in endorsing Perdue for governor.

When Trump endorsed Perdue in December of 2021, he said, “Kemp has been a very weak governor — the liberals and RINOs have run all over him on Election Integrity, and more. Most importantly, he can’t win because the MAGA base — which is enormous — will never vote for him. We need strong leaders who will fight, and time is running out! David Perdue will eliminate the Income Tax, secure the Elections, defend the Second Amendment, support our great Farmers, get crime in Atlanta and other places under control, take care of our great Vets, and put parents back in charge of the schools.”

In a statement made in late April, Trump recently said, “Brian Kemp should be voted out of office — vote for David Perdue. REMEMBER, Brian Kemp will never be able to win the General Election against Stacey ‘The Hoax’ Abrams because a large number of Republicans just will not vote for him.”
