Tennessee Representative Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01) joined Texas Representative Ronny Jackson, M.D. (R-TX-13) and colleagues in sending a letter to President Joe Biden, his physician Kevin O’Connor, and his Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci renewing calls for the president to immediately undergo a cognitive test and share the results with the American people.

The Tuesday letter comes after a “clear decline in Biden’s cognitive ability, the American peoples’ growing concern about our commander-in-chief’s fitness for office, and Biden’s decision to avoid a cognitive test during his recent medical examination,” according to a press release by Jackson’s office.

“We again write to you to express concern with your current cognitive state. We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should follow the example set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities,” the letter begins.

“While you underwent your annual physical exam on November 19, 2021, you either did not have a cognitive test or those results were withheld from the public. White House Physician Kevin O’Connor, D.O., attested to you being “fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency” in a purely physical manner; however, we are worried about your cognitive and mental abilities,” the letter continues.

Citing Democrat Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD-08), who previously pointed out that with many politicians and the population at-large growing older it’s “not hard to think that there will be future situations where the president’s physical and mental state may create issues for us,” the lawmakers end the letter by saying, “We encourage you to follow the example set by President Trump, by undergoing a cognitive test as soon as possible and immediately making the results available for the American people.”

This is not the first letter Biden has received requesting him to undergo a cognitive test. Jackson sent a letter to Biden in June 2021 calling on him to take the test but his request was ignored, according to the press release.
