SUN CITY, Arizona—Donald Trump Jr. gave a speech at the West Valley Trump campaign headquarters on Wednesday in Sun City to a small room of volunteers who make phone calls for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
He began his speech by discussing how hectic the campaign trail was. “I almost feel like Joe Biden where I wake up,” he said. “I don’t even know where I am. It’s just, it’s because I’m traveling a lot, not because of the dementia. So it’s a little different.”
Trump Jr. wasn’t afraid to discuss election fraud.
“We all understand they’re going to play their games,” he said. “You know, we all understood what went on in 2020. There’s literally zero chance that Joe Biden actually outperformed Barack Obama — only in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee — like that didn’t happen. Like we understand that, right. So now they had COVID, they had this, but they’re going to do what Democrats do, because this is a story as old as time, so we have to overcome it.”
He also provided some encouraging words. “We’re setting records with the lower propensity voters, the medium propensity voters; those people are voting,” he said.
He spoke about visiting the devastation in North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene, where he observed “neighbor helping neighbor” and “hugs, tears, selfies, the youth in the community; they knew all the cops by first name. … This is the America, like, that’s supposed to exist, and it does. It actually is real, but you’ll never see it because of the divisiveness, because of the lies that you know, the click bait that they need to create on TV. I’m like, ‘Wow, this actually exists.’”
Trump Jr. talked about how easily the federal government came up with money for Ukraine, in contrast to assisting with the devastation.
“They came up with a magical $450 billion for Ukraine in about two minutes, you know probably on top of the $250-plus billion that the Pentagon lost,” Trump Jr. said.
He praised the people of North Carolina for overcoming their losses and still voting.
“Even those who lost homes and loved ones are voting like you wouldn’t believe, the highest turnout they’ve ever had,” he said.
He spoke about taking his two sons to McDonald’s and encountering “sticker shock” at the cost of a meal coming to $48. However, he said the Washington establishment is out of touch. “I’ve gone around the country and, you know, since the start of the Ukraine war, and watching clowns like Mitch McConnell tell me it’s the number one issue for Republicans across the country. I’m like, ‘Have you ever met Republicans like outside of Washington?’ … I’ve spoken to more Republicans in, like, what we call real America today than Mitch McConnell probably has in his 436 years in office.”
He said he surveyed around 100,000 people nationwide campaigning, including taking audience questions. He said two of the only people who said Ukraine was a top 10 issue for them were a guy from Kyiv and a guy who worked at Raytheon, so he had a financial interest in selling missiles.
“He wants the war to go on forever,” he said.
Trump Jr. revealed that when Kamala Harris finally updated her campaign website with her priorities, she kept the same policies as Biden. “With Kamala Harris, we know that because she cut and paste Joe Biden’s policies to put them on her web page,” he said. “It took a month, but they didn’t even change the source code. So we know it’s going to be the same.”
He said the Democrats accuse his father’s name of being on the government’s list of Epstein’s associates. “I’m like,’I assure you folks that if he was on that list, it would have leaked, would have been redacted, but his name would have been prominent,’” Trump Jr. said. “That’s why they’re all scared. That’s why Bill Gates donated $50 million yesterday. Because they’re all tied [to Epstein].”
Trump Jr. said that the most predominant demographic that approaches him for selfies is black men.
“When you think about, think of the trades we’ve made; we got rid of Dick and Liz Cheney, the biggest warmongers,” he said.
He quoted the Democrats bragging, “But we got Dick Cheney.” Trump Jr. said he responds, “I’m like, but for 30 years you called him a war criminal, and now you’re embracing him.”
He cited Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, and Robert Kennedy Jr. as the equivalent new supporters for Republicans. He discussed the possibility of an “October Surprise,” something possibly deliberate occurring this month that would significantly affect the election. “I don’t think there’s an October surprise,” he said. “No, that doesn’t mean they won’t lie about stuff and try to create something. But you know, early voting is too far in — if they had something real, they would do it.”
He discussed the former president’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, speaking up recently and calling his father a “fascist.”
“If this was a real threat to democracy, and you really believed that it was true, why’d you wait five years to tell a story?” Trump Jr. said. “You wait until two weeks before the election? You know what the answer is. He waits five years, because if he can do the bidding of the Democratic Party, there’s a board seat for you. There’s a position of power; the swamp will take care of its own if you take care of the swamp. And that’s why this time around, it’s so much more vicious against my father.”
He discussed his father, “They canceled the most powerful guy in the world. … They tried to impeach my father twice, then they tried to bankrupt him, then they tried to take his assets, and they tried to throw him in jail, possibly the death penalty as well.”
Trump Jr. went over the July assassination attempt against his father in Butler, Pennsylvania. “And when that doesn’t work, we’ll just crank up the vitriol so much to radicalize the most extreme people. Right? Does anyone really believe there’s a 20-year-old kid that will go so far as to try to kill the presumptive nominee of a party and a former president, who has no social media footprint whatsoever? He’s never been online? It’s amazing, very sophisticated for having never even used a computer. No, of course he did. No one believes this nonsense anymore.”
Trump Jr. explained how he’s been treated since his father took office.
“For me, it wasn’t that much fun at the time, 50 hours of congressional testimony for treason. Just so we’re clear, that’s a crime punishable by death. Like of course, I didn’t do anything, but it didn’t stop them from putting that, you know, that’s sort of like, a lot of pressure, right? … It doesn’t really matter that you screw that one up and you go to jail for life or whatever.”
He warned, “That shows you the length they’re willing to go. There’s nothing they won’t do. You know, the people who talk about democracy and everyone they don’t like as a fascist are running roughshod over democracy, right?”
Trump Jr. discussed COVID-19.
“I remember that, like, when COVID started happening, ‘Hey, has anyone ever thought that maybe I don’t know the Wuhan virus started in the lab in Wuhan, China that studies the exact virus that we’re talking about?’” He said the response was, “‘How dare you, you’re not a virologist.’ I’m like, ‘You’re not gonna have to be a virologist. I just have to not be like a moron. This is not rocket science.’ But if you were in academia, if you were a doctor, if you had research grants from the government, if you went with the obvious answer, the most plausible answer, and even questioned that, it was probably, or possibly it — your career was over.”
He reminded the audience how Dr. Anthony Fauci said “the exact opposite of what he said to his colleagues in emails” on TV. “But he never met a camera he didn’t love,” he went on. “They used him as a crutch, and he loved every second of it, and he gets to profiteer from the stuff that they’re supposed to be fixing with government money.“
Trump Jr. ended his speech by joking about Harris’ vice presidential running mate Tim Walz, saying he was “very afraid” of his masculinity. “I’ve never seen a wrist so limp in my life!” He made fun of Walz for taking 49 seconds to load a shotgun. In contrast, Trump Jr., a hunter, said it takes him about four seconds.
