Icelandair announced Wednesday that it will begin offering a new seasonal nonstop flight route from Nashville International Airport (BNA) to Reykjavík, Iceland next year.
Flights from Nashville to Reykjavík will commence four days a week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday – beginning May 16, 2025 through October.

The flight from BNA to Keflavík International Airport lasts approximately seven hours and will operate on a B737-800 MAX aircraft, which accommodates seating for 16 Saga Premium and 144 Economy passengers.
Icelandair’s new route from Nashville marks the airliner’s 18th destination in North America which offers service to and from Reykjavík at Keflavík International Airport.
“We are very pleased to add Nashville to our extensive network in North America, linking Music City to our 34 destinations in Europe,” Icelandair president and CEO Bogi Nils Bogason said in a statement.
“We know travelers from the Southeast will greatly benefit from this new service and offer Tennesseans the best options to Iceland and beyond. Our new service will also provide travelers from Iceland and Europe, connecting through Nashville, more choices throughout the US. In addition, we encourage passengers traveling to Europe, to take an Icelandair Stopover, and explore our home. We look forward to welcoming Nashville aboard,” Bogason added.
Doug Kreulen, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, pointed out how the new route to Iceland “provides a new gateway to Europe” from BNA.
“Whether you’re dreaming of exploring the ancient glaciers of Iceland, immersing yourself in the vibrant culture of Reykjavík, or embarking on a European adventure, this new flight provides the perfect starting point, and we are overjoyed to connect our two cities,” Kreulen added.
Icelandair’s new route out of Nashville comes weeks after Southwest Airlines, the largest carrier at BNA, announced it would be expanding service to offer three new nonstop flight routes to Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos, Mexico; Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; and Indianapolis from Nashville beginning in March.
