Former President Donald Trump will reportedly be joined for a Pennsylvania event by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who has served as the country’s president since 2015.

The Pennsylvania Daily Star confirmed on Wednesday Trump and Duda will both attend an event at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on Sunday, but did has not determined whether the former president will meet with the Polish leader.

Levittownnow.com first reported on Monday that Duda and Trump will meet during the event. The outlet noted that the Polish leader is visiting the United States to attend a session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Reuters confirmed Trump and Duda’s intent to meet. The outlet revealed that the details of their meeting had yet to be finalized by Wednesday but reported that a Polish official told the outlet it would “definitely be an opportunity to exchange a few words and talk about the most important topics.”

The Daily Star made press inquiries with Trump’s campaign and Duda’s office about their possible meeting.

News of the potential meeting broke only days after Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Duda and other Polish officials in Warsaw to discuss “deepening U.S.-Polish bilateral relations across a wide range of mutual interests, including civil-nuclear partnerships.”

Duda, a conservative politician, has remained a steadfast supporter of Ukraine since Russia invaded the country in February 2022. Blinken also reiterated the Biden-Harris administration’s stance to stand “united with Poland as NATO Allies in support of Ukraine’s defense against Russia’s aggression “to promote a “shared vision for the future, grounded in our shared democratic values.”

The possible meeting between Trump and Duda in Bucks County could be politically significant for the former president, who has argued neither the conflict in Ukraine nor Israel would have occurred had he been returned to the White House for a second term in 2020.

It would also occur as both Trump and Duda visit Bucks County, which Governor Josh Shapiro recently described as the top swing county in the country. The number of registered Republican voters in Bucks County recently surpassed the number of registered Democrats for the first time since 2007.

The RealClearPolling average of surveys suggests Trump is virtually tied with Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, where the aggregate shows Harris ahead by just 0.6 percent.
