A pro-Palestine demonstration and march are scheduled in the outlying Atlanta suburb of Snellville on Saturday, and a car caravan is planned for Sunday in Alpharetta, Atlanta’s Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL Atlanta) announced on social media Wednesday.

PSL Atlanta wrote in a Facebook post that a “Stand with Gaza – Solidarity with the Nationwide Student Movement Rally and March” event for Georgia students will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Snellville Towne Greene.

“High school students call on ALL students and people of conscience in Georgia to rally to demand an end to apartheid Israel and Biden’s genocide in Gaza and show solidarity to the courageous nationwide student movement fighting for a free Palestine!” the group said on Facebook, “End all U.S. aid to Israel! Permanent ceasefire now! End the occupation!”

According to PSL Atlanta’s post, Sunday’s “Car Caravan for Palestine” starts at 2:30 p.m. at the Hamzah Islamic Center in Alpharetta.

“Join us on Sunday, May [5] for a car caravan for Palestine in Alpharetta! We demand an end to Israel and Biden’s horrific genocide of the Palestinian people!

Assemble at the Hamzah Islamic Center’s parking lot, where we will decorate our cars and gather to drive the message of a free Palestine around the city. The caravan will depart at 3:30 PM.

From the river to the sea, we’ll not stop until Palestine is free!”

The weekend rally and caravan come as PSL Atlanta has continued its efforts to occupy the campus at Emory University.

In a joint video post with Students for Socialism at Emory on Instagram on Wednesday, PSL Atlanta called for more protesters to come to Emory University. A caption of the video said, “Come to Oxford Road Building at Emory to support the student encampment for Gaza.”

The speaker in the video said, “Hi, we’re at Emory University rebuilding the encampments that the administration smashed previously. We need as many bodies as possible to protect students. Please come to campus, Oxford Road, we’re by the Oxford Building. Please come to us so we can continue rebuilding the encampments and show our solidarity with Gaza on International Worker’s Day.”

Another social media post celebrated several pro-Palestine protests on Wednesday. “Hundreds of students from across Georgia boldly walked out of class for Gaza at four different colleges today, International Workers’ Day. In the face of hostile administrations, violent police repression, and demonization from the mass media, students in the United States are following the lead of the Columbia University uprising to demand their school fully divest from the apartheid state of Israel. People of conscience in the United States are learning that repression breeds resistance! The police and the state will not intimidate students from standing up against genocide, colonialism, and apartheid in Palestine.”

Additionally, PSL Atlanta promoted a Kennesaw State University (KSU) walkout and rally. “Join us at KSU this Wednesday on May Day for another walkout and rally for Palestine!” the group’s social media post said.

“KSU students are joining thousands across the country demanding that our university disclose and end all investment in apartheid Israel! We will continue to disrupt business and school as usual until the U.S.-Israeli war machine ends its genocide of the Palestinian people!”

According to its website, The Atlanta Liberation Center is “the home” of PSL Atlanta. The group’s calendar lists pro-Palestine events.
