Pennsylvania-based radio and television host John Fredericks confirmed he is “strongly considering” a campaign for the Chair of the Pennsylvania delegation to the Republican National Convention (RNC) after grassroots voters propelled him to a “landslide” victory to become an RNC delegate to nominate former President Donald Trump.
He mentioned his possible candidacy in a Friday appearance on War Room with Stephen K. Bannon, the former Trump presidential aide who now hosts of the popular War Room program, during which he noted the fierce establishment opposition to his presence in the local party despite widespread support from party activists.
Fredericks stated to The Pennsylvania Daily Star, “I’m only considering a run for Delegation Chairman due to the outpouring of support I’ve gotten and the number of people that have asked me to run.”
He stressed, “I am going to the convention for one purpose, and that is to make sure that President Trump’s agenda is executed to precision.”
Should Fredericks decide to run for RNC Delegation Chair, he told Bannon he would “go right to the delegates,” sidestepping party insiders to “lead this delegation out of RINO disaster land.”
Speaking on War Room to Pennsylvania Republicans, Fredericks said of the Republican Party of Pennsylvania (PAGOP), “If you’re living in Pennsylvania, and you’re part of the Pennsylvania GOP, what have they done? All we do is lose. There’s no apparatus.”
The radio host is considering a run for RNC Delegation Chair after winning an eight-way contest to become a delegate for former President Donald Trump to the 2024 RNC, receiving the support of 18 percent of the electorate with 20,380 votes cast in his favor.
Fredericks noted his victory came despite election officials listing his name eighth on the ballot and his campaign being “iced out” by party committees.

No stranger to Republican conventions, Fredericks was previously a delegate to the 2016 RNC when he lived in Virginia. During that time, Fredericks told The Daily Star he was part of the pro-Trump faction that challenged the “Cruz-Cuccinelli” axis for days before the future president was nominated.
Fredericks went on to serve as an RNC Delegation Chairman in 2020 and was endorsed by Trump in 2024.

Of his recent victory, Fredericks explained, “We went right to the voters. We just went over them, I raised money and ran a campaign and went right to the voters. We were able to sweep the field and come in first and lead everybody.”
The radio host and longtime Trump supporter told the War Room audience his grassroots victory additionally came despite a confrontation with former Pennsylvania House Speaker Mike Turzai, who Fredericks explained admitted to campaigning against him.
Fredericks explained he encountered Turzai, who did not seek another term in 2020, as the former politician left a polling location on Tuesday.
The host reported that Turzai ultimately barked at him, “You have no right to be here, you have no right to be at this poll, you have no right to be running for anything,” and questioned Fredericks’ decision to move to Pennsylvania. “People have been working here for 30 years,” Fredericks recollected the man telling him. “Go back to Virginia where you came from.”
Fredericks accused Turzai of being a “clown” in a video posted to the social media platform X.
CLOWN ALERT 🤡: Michael Turzai Proves Why Change is Needed in the Pennsylvania Republican Party
Let me tell you about this ridiculous exchange I had with former Speaker of the Pennsylvania House @MikeTurzai on Tuesday morning just after the polls opened. #RINO #GOP #PA

Of the exchange, Fredericks retorted, “You want to know why we lose? You want to know why Pennsylvania is a joke? You want to know why Allegheny County is a complete disaster and Republicans can’t win? Just take that two minutes.”
He told The Daily Star that resistance to his candidacy by the establishment wing of the PAGOP crumbled “like the Maginot line.”
Of the party’s resistance, Fredericks added, “It’s all bullying and yelling and there’s nothing there. There’s no substance, and we proved it for the ruse it is.”
In an exclusive statement to The Daily Star, Bannon gave his whole hearted support to Fredericks’ potential push to head Pennsylvania’s delegation at the RNC.
Bannon stated Fredericks’ announcement “is another example of the success of the precinct strategy and the MAGA takeover of the GOP.”
