The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) endorsed U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) for reelection to Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District on Wednesday.
CPAC’s endorsement of Ogles comes weeks after the Tennessee congressman scored 99 percent on the organization’s annual Ratings of Congress report, which “depicts how closely a lawmaker adheres to conservative principle” based on their voting record.

Ogles was recognized with the CPAC Award for Conservative Excellence for his 99 percent score, as the average score for Republican U.S. representatives was 81 percent.
The Tennessee congressman has served as the U.S. representative for the Volunteer State’s 5th Congressional District since January 2023 and is a member of the House Freedom Caucus.
Before his election to Congress, Ogles served as the mayor of Maury County from 2018 until 2022.
Ogles recently received endorsements from four of his colleagues serving the Volunteer State in the U.S. House of Representatives: Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01), Tim Burchett (R-TN-02), Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN-03), and Mark Green (R-TN-07).
In recent weeks, the Tennessee congressman has also received endorsements from Tennessee Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Utah Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH-04), and the Republican Liberty Caucus.
Ogles, who is also endorsed by former President Donald Trump, recently made history for submitting the highest number of legislative proposals by any freshman member of Congress in “several decades,” as previously reported by The Tennessee Star.
The congressman has introduced 100 pieces of legislation since taking office, of which 37 pieces of legislation have passed the House and three have been signed into law.
Ogles faces Metro Nashville Council Member Courtney Johnston in the Republican primary, which will be held on August 1.
