A group of Tennessee lawmakers have condemned President Joe Biden for proclaiming March 31, which is Easter Sunday, as Transgender Day of Visibility, saying the president’s proclamation is a “satanic and patently Marxist declaration” and a “direct assault on Christianity.”
The White House announced the proclamation on Friday, which reads:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
“The word “holiday” literally means HOLY DAY. Yet, the left is trying to exchange what is a holy day—the triumph over death through Christ’s resurrection—into an emphatic endorsement of what is unholy: mutilating the human body and desecrating God’s creation,” U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) wrote on X.
“Joe Biden’s agenda requires more than a swift abolition of the Christian religion and traditions; it requires absolute power to unilaterally declare what Americans ought to see as sacrosanct. We must not bow down to this satanic and patently Marxist declaration,” Ogles added. “Easter is about rejoicing in Christ’s invitation to be cleansed from sins, not reveling and boasting in them.”

U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01) said the proclamation is a “direct assault on Christianity,” adding, “It’s evident the left is determined to undermine our religion and traditions.”
“This isn’t just blatant disregard, it’s intentional,” Harshbarger said.

Tennessee State Representative and House Republican Caucus Chairman Jeremy Faison (R-Cosby) also condemned the president’s proclamation, writing on X, “I would hope our self proclaiming “Christian president” would be most interested in celebrating the most Holy of Christian holidays (Easter).”
“However, this pagan nationalist president chose to be an instigator & use the very day we celebrate our risen Savior as a day to celebrate controversial gender ideology,” Faison (pictured above, middle) added.

Biden’s proclamation comes days after it was revealed that the White House banned children of National Guard families from submitting religious Easter egg designs for the 2024 Celebrating National Guard Families art contest.
“Selected designs representing the unique experience and stories of National Guard children will be brought to life on real hen eggs by talented egg artists from across the country and displayed at the White House this Easter and Passover season,” the flier for the art contest said.
“The Submission must not include any questionable content, religious symbols, overtly religious themes, or partisan political statements,” the flier added.
