Former President Donald Trump is looking to increase his lead in the GOP presidential primary with only 100 days until the Iowa caucuses.

Trump held a rally in Waterloo, Iowa, on Saturday where he addressed a crowd of his supporters. During the rally, he commented on the recent attack on Israel by Hamas.

“It has to be dealt with very powerfully,” the 45th president said during his speech. “This is a time where the United States needs leadership. But Israel is at war. The U.S. is obviously going to stick with Israel strongly.”

Trump also promised during his speech that he would conduct the “largest deportation operation in history” if elected in 2024.

While the former president continues to dominate in multiple polls for the GOP primary, some strategists believe he won’t win in the upcoming Iowa caucus.

“It’s obviously Trump’s to lose,” Republican strategist Doug Gross said, according to The Hill. “He’s got the strongest and the largest and the most intense base of support. In Iowa, for caucuses, that’s a double-edged sword, because it also means expectations.”

Trump has made a few frequent visits to Iowa these past few months, but Gross told the outlet that he believes this move could make Trump vulnerable in other states.

“There’s plenty of downside for Donald Trump in Iowa because if he doesn’t meet expectations in terms of the results … it makes him vulnerable in future states,” he said.

Iowa’s first-in-the-nation presidential caucus will occur on Jan. 15, which is earlier than in recent years, according to Politico.
