Former President Donald Trump holds a commanding lead over Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in their shared state of residence.

Trump claimed the support of 57% of Republican voters in the Sunshine State to the governor’s 22% in a recent poll from Tony Fabrizio, who surveys for a pro-Trump super PAC. Fabrizio conducted this survey for a private client, according to The Messenger.

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley placed third with 7%, while former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie earned 2%. Tech mogul Vivek Ramaswamy, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and former Vice President Mike Pence each claimed 1%.

The Florida governor earned high marks among Republicans, with 90% approving of him, including 76% who strongly approved of him. Complicating matters for DeSantis, however, is the apparently fluidity of his voter base relative to Trump’s.

Of those currently backing the former president, 81% said they were definitely committed to their choice, while only 18% said they could change their mind. With Trump at 57% support, this means roughly 46% of Florida Republicans were firmly in the Trump camp.

Only 40% of the Florida governor’s supporters were firmly decided on voting for him, by contrast. A further 58% said they were open to voting for another candidate.
