Sen. Dianne Feinstein, longest-serving woman in the Senate, dies at age 90, according to news reports Friday morning.

The California Democrat has over the past several months and years struggled with health issues and was planning to retire at the end of her term this year.

Feinstein, the oldest member of the Senate, faced calls to resign over health concerns, before her term ended.

Her cause of death had not been made public as of mid-Friday morning.

“Senator Dianne Feinstein was a trailblazer for women in politics,” she wrote. “Despite our differences, I enjoyed our work together to protect songwriters and take on Big Tech. My prayers are with her family.
