On the Blue Virginia campaign blog, Susanna Gibson, a Democrat running in the commonwealth’s General Assembly 57th District, posted a reminiscence, “Susanna Gibson: Stalking Has Been Referred to as Murder in Slow Motion, Which I Can Personally Attest Is True,” recounting how in 2015, the cam-girl was the victim of a stalker.

I caught the interest of a man who I had never met. He began to watch me. Watching my house and observing my schedule as I worked making house calls as a Nurse Practitioner for VCU.

This man then began to break into my home and steal personal items of mine. There is a feeling when you walk into your home and you just know that someone else had been there. Your arms and legs tingle. A sinking sensation develops in the pit of your stomach. I was scared to be alone in my home, even during daylight hours. Fearful of this faceless person who was violating my space. My safety. Terrified that any person walking down the street could be him.

The Democrat said her attorney husband, John David Gibson, did not understand what she was going through, and the police suggested she purchased a firearm. “This left me feeling isolated, adrift, and scared without anyone or anything safe to grasp onto. It made me question my own sanity.”

Eventually, the Henrico County resident and the police devised a trap. A detective called her as she was going into labor to tell her he attached a GPS device to a pair of her running shoes, which he left out on the porch.

“The next morning, as I held my 12-hour-old baby girl I received a text: ‘Call me before you leave the hospital.’ They had finally caught him.”

The Washington Post broke the story Sept. 11 that Gibson had made a series of sex videos with her husband based on information provided by the Republican operative. The paper reported Gibson posted her last sex videos in September 2022, with the final posted on the last day of the month.

Cam-girls are often the victim of stalkers and attackers. In 2022, Ashley Benson starred in “Alone at Night,” a suspense thriller about a cam-girl who models lingerie for her fans from a cabin in the woods.

Gibson may have taken the title of her blog post from the 2018 made-for-television miniseries, “Stalked: Murder in Slow Motion,” starring English actress Kym Marsh, as herself and the narrator of her own 10-year ordeal with a stalker.

According to the election information site The Virginia Public Access, the Gibson campaign committee’s finance reports begin July 22, 2022, two months before the last videos were uploaded.

As of Aug. 31, Gibson raised $972,197 compared to $527,908 raised by Republican David Owen.
