GOP Presidential hopeful U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released a new ad Wednesday in advance of two major campaign events in the Hawkeye State.

His campaign also reported raising north of $6 million in the most recent quarter.

The 30-second spot, titled “Foundation,” launched two days before Scott is scheduled to appear at the Family Leadership Summit, organized by the Family Leader, a conservative Christian organization. Scott plans to host a town hall in Davenport Friday afternoon as well.

“Our country is founded upon a Judea-Christian rock,” Scott says in the ad. “Our rights don’t come from a government. They’re inalienable. They come from a creator.”

Scott, the only black Republican in the U.S. Senate, has been upfront about his faith, making it a big part of his run for the White House. He says the values embedded in the Gospel are often missing in American public life.

“Jesus Christ is the lord of my life. If we want a better America, I think it starts with faith in God and faith in each other,” the candidate says in the ad. “We must preserve the ability to worship as we see fit.”

The Scott campaign did not release details on the cost of the latest ad buy, but it appears to be part of a $6 million buy in the Hawkeye State and New Hampshire.

On Wednesday, the campaign announced it raised $6.1 million in the second quarter — April through June. It reported $21 million in cash-on-hand. Scott didn’t officially enter the crowded field of Republican presidential candidates until late May.

“We can also proudly confirm Tim will be on the debate stage for months to come thanks to over 75,000 donations from over 53,000 unique donors across all 50 states,” the campaign said in a press release.

The fundraising success, according to the campaign, is in no small part thanks to attacks on Scott by President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, and other liberals.

“Tim Scott is the candidate the radical Left fears most,” the campaign said.
