The Tennessee Republican Party announced Ron DeSantis, Florida governor and presidential candidate, as the keynote speaker for the group’s 46th annual Statesmen’s Dinner next month.

The event is scheduled for July 15 at the Music City Center in Nashville.

“We are proud of the Tennessee Republican Party’s reputation as one of the premier Republican organizations across the United States,” Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden said in an emailed statement.

“Almost a half-century ago, our leaders had the idea of bringing our Republican family together for an annual dinner and named it the Statesman’s Dinner. Each year we gather to recognize the volunteers that have turned the State of Tennessee from a Democrat stronghold to a bright red, conservative Republican beacon,” Golden added.

The group argued that it has been a “must-stop on the road to the White House and the Republican nomination,” citing its past keynote speakers of former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in 2013, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott in 2014, Ambassador and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in 2016, and Vice President Mike Pence in 2017.

Golden said, “The evening promises to be an excellent opportunity to hear directly from one of the presidential candidates before Tennessee’s 2024 Super Tuesday Presidential Primary. The TNGOP looks forward to hosting other presidential candidates and events as we move toward victory in 2024!”

Known as “Super Tuesday,” the 2024 Tennessee Republican presidential primary will be held on the same day as primaries in 14 other states on March 5, 2024.

Single tickets for the event are $300, which includes access to the Capitol Reception and Statesmen’s Dinner. The reception will begin at 5:00 pm, with the dinner and program starting at 6:00 p.m. Attire for the event is business professional/ cocktail, and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
