SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – At a standing-room-only event Sunday, Kari Lake signaled she is not giving up her legal battle to install her as the rightful Arizona governor instead of Democrat Katie Hobbs. Lake held a Save Arizona rally at Orange Tree Golf Club in Scottsdale with over a thousand in attendance, assuring her supporters she intended to fight until the “victorious end.” The mainstream media recently ran stories claiming Lake was switching her focus to running against Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ).
Lake focused her entire speech on election fraud. “They thought they could steal it and we would just go away,” she said to thunderous applause. “We had the greatest candidates in the country here in Arizona. We were running against some of the worst candidates in the history of Arizona. It didn’t matter if they rolled out brain-dead candidates,” she said, alluding to election fraud ensuring the Democrats’ victories. “The fix was in. They knew they didn’t have to campaign.”
Lake vented her frustration, “We have the people with us, but they have the corrupt election officials and corrupt, fake news.” She brought up the election problems in 2020. “In 2020, they stole the election in the dead of night so they could put a dementia patient like Joe Biden in.” In contrast, she said this past year “they stole our election in broad daylight.”
Lake frequently displayed a photo on a screen next to her of Bill Gates, chair of the Maricopa County Supervisors, and Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, both election fraud deniers, which resulted in loud booing from the crowd and chants of “Lock them up!” She said, “Stephen Richer and Bill Gates rigged elections. If they had one shred of decency they would resign.”
My favorite part was how many times she showed @stephen_richer & @billgatesaz . Each time they were loudly booed! They should resign. pic.twitter.com/gybNXOLvHj

She said about the pair, “I’ve found out that they’re really good at lying.” She cited their statements claiming the tabulation problems were fixed by mid-morning on Election Day. Instead, every half an hour all day long, there were over 7,000 ballots spit out of the tabulators in Maricopa County, she said. “The ballots were regurgitated a quarter of a million times.”
She went over the evidence her team provided to the courts showing voter disenfranchisement, including around 300,000 ballots that lacked a chain of custody. One man yelled from the audience, “They came out of Hobbs’ closet!”
The crowd roared when Lake referred to Hobbs. “She’s probably curled up in a fetal position on the couch because she knows she’s a fraud,” Lake said. She pointed out how Hobbs threatened county officials with jail if they did not certify the election, prompting some in the audience to yell, “Send her to jail!” Lake referred to Hobbs as “a squatter in the governor’s office.” She added, “Don’t get too comfortable sweetie, you know you’re afraid.”
Lake displayed four examples of mismatching signatures that were accepted for voting, pointing out that there were 40,000 bad signatures accepted in the 2020 election. She cited three whistleblowers who testified that Maricopa County continued to accept numerous bad signatures in the 2022 election.
“They intentionally printed the wrong image on the ballot so the tabulators wud jam all day long,” she said, referring to the printer setting that printed ballots for 19-inch paper instead of the standard 20-inch paper that was used. Lake said observers at the Maricopa County tabulation center said there was a map on the wall showing the areas that were high-efficacy Republican, and she asked why this was necessary.
Lake went after the mainstream media multiple times, which was located in a press booth in the back of the room. “I don’t know how they live with themselves for not covering election fraud,” she scolded. “They’re the enemy of the people.” She pointed out that a poll taken after the election found that 72 percent of Arizonans believe the election was botched. “There is a reason we wrote the media off, and it’s not for my protection, it’s for theirs.”
She said, “The fake news is working against us and the country. There’s not a Republican in this room who would be OK with Democrats being disenfranchised.” Laid said she would explain it to the media in language they understand, “This was a coordinated assault on our democracy.”
Lake called out one of the mainstream reporters who was standing in the front near year for wearing a mask, telling him he didn’t need it.
Lake took a jab at Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-07), who is planning to challenge Sinema. “We call him the AOC of Arizona,” she declared. “And that may be an insult to AOC. He’s known as a racist in the black community. His only black staffer recently quit.”
Lake concluded with some strong statements. “Our election was rotten and our election needs to be thrown out and redone,” she declared. “I will never give up. I am not backing down, not one d*** bit. Our resolve to save this republic has never been stronger. … I am in this fight until the victorious end.”
Former President Donald Trump called into the event on speakerphone. He said, “A lot of Republican-area machines were broken, it’s a disgrace, and ultimately she is going to be victorious.”
Newly elected Arizona Republican Party Chair Jeff DeWit, State Senator Wendy Rogers (R-Flagstaff), chair of the newly formed Arizona Senate Election Committee, State Senator Sonny Borelli (R-Lake Havasu), and Western Journal founder Floyd Brown also spoke briefly. Brown said he used to work for President Ronald Reagan, and in the 35 years since Reagan retired, he hasn’t seen anyone who could communicate like him until Lake. “This is why the left fought so hard to stop her,” he said.
