Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Tuesday that he has petitioned the Florida Supreme Court to empanel a statewide grand jury to investigate “any and all wrongdoing” linked to the COVID-19 shots to bring accountability to those who have engaged in misconduct.

In its petition to the state Supreme Court, the DeSantis administration said that the “pharmaceutical industry has a notorious history of misleading the public for financial gain” and the grand jury will probe “the development, promotion, and distribution of vaccines purported to prevent COVID-19 infection, symptoms, and transmission.”

DeSantis made the announcement during a live-streamed round table discussion on mRNA vaccine adverse events with Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, and world-renowned physicians, researchers, and public health experts in West Palm Beach. Adverse events discussed at the roundtable included coagulation disorders, acute cardiac injuries, Bell’s palsy, encephalitis, appendicitis, and shingles.

DeSantis had previously hinted that his administration would be taking action to hold vaccine manufacturers accountable for making false claims about their mRNA products during a private event at the governor’s mansion, as American Greatness reported on Dec. 5.

The governor said that he anticipated that his administration would get the approval for the Statewide Grand Jury, and noted that in Florida, it’s against the law to mislead the public, especially when it comes to drug safety.

As the Biden regime continues to push the experimental shots, and public health officials ignore the unprecedented and awful adverse events, trust in the medical establishment has waned, Dr. Steve Templeton pointed out during the discussion.

“There has been a tremendous loss of trust in public health and I think you can see that in decreased uptake of vaccines that have been traditionally used,” said Templeton, Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Indiana University School of Medicine-Terre Haute. “This isn’t just anti-vaxx people; this is people who have really lost trust in the system, and I think you have to restore that trust to get people to believe in the efficacy of vaccines that have been used for decades without problem and have been very effective.”

“I think people want the truth and I think people want accountability,” DeSantis said. “You need to have a thorough investigation into what’s happened with the shots.”

DeSantis promised to take two other actions to hold the federal government and Big Pharma accountable for vaccine deaths and injuries:

Establishing the Public Health Integrity Committee. The Committee will be overseen by the Surgeon General to assess federal public health recommendations and guidance to ensure that Florida’s public health policies are tailored for Florida’s communities and priorities.

• Leading further surveillance into sudden deaths of individuals that received the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida, based on autopsy results. The state will collaborate with the University of Florida to compare research with studies done in other countries.

Ladapo will oversee the Public Health Integrity Committee of expert researchers charged with assessing federal decisions, recommendations, and guidance related to public health and health care. According to the governor’s website, the “Surgeon General would then receive input from the committee to ensure public health policies are tailored for Florida’s communities and aligned with state priorities.”

Members of the governor’s Public Health Integrity Committee will include:

 Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD
 Martin Kuldorff, PhD
 Tracy Beth Høeg, MD, PhD
 Joseph Fraiman, MD
 Christine Stabell Benn, MD, PhD
 Bret Weinstein, PhD
 Steven Templeton, PhD

“People feel like they’re beholden to the CDC,” Ladapo noted during the round table discussion, Tuesday. “We will be issuing recommendations that make sense and are scientifically valid.”

Harvard epidemiologist Martin Kulldorff and Stanford University medical professor Jay Bhattacharya were also present for the roundtable discussion. Kulldorff and Bhattacharya authored the Great Barrington Declaration in the Fall of 2020, which expressed “grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts” of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, especially the lockdown policies.

The declaration was suppressed in the media after NIAID Director Anthony Fauci “come out very strongly” against it, at then-National Institutes of Health Director (NIH) Francis Collins‘ urging.

Ladapo also announced that he will conduct research—in coordination with the state’s Department of Health and the University of Florida—to assess sudden deaths of individuals in good health who received COVID-19 injections.
