A new Alpha News/Trafalgar Group poll has Republican Dr. Scott Jensen narrowly leading Gov. Tim Walz less than three weeks before the midterm election.
Nearly 55% of likely Minnesota voters disapprove of President Joe Biden, an almost identical result to the findings of a Sept. 14 poll.
Since then, Jensen has turned a deficit of 2.7 percentage points into a half-point lead. He now leads Gov. Walz 46.3% to 45.8%.
Republican attorney general candidate Jim Schultz has expanded his lead over Attorney General Keith Ellison, who trails his opponent by nearly 5 points.
Republican Kim Crockett is still locked in a tight race with Secretary of State Steve Simon, who now leads by 2 points, a slight increase from his lead in September. Nine percent of voters remain undecided in this race.
With an almost 4-point advantage, state auditor candidate Ryan Wilson is beginning to pull away from incumbent Julie Blaha. The poll has 6% of the votes going to third-party candidates with 9.5% of voters still saying they are undecided.
Voters now identify inflation and the cost of living as their top concern followed by fighting violent crime.
Trafalgar Group senior strategist Robert Cahaly will be on Liz Collin Reports this weekend to provide an in-depth analysis of the poll.
The poll was conducted Oct. 17-19 among 1,091 likely general election voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9%.
