Global media company Forbes announced Wednesday that Ohio will be the host of the Under 30 Summit from 2023 through 2025.

The annual event, presented by JobsOhio, will occur in three different Ohio cities over the next three years. It will first be held in Cleveland in 2023 and will then be hosted in Cincinnati and Columbus, respectively, in the following two years.

According to a statement from Forbes, the summit’s goal is to bring together young, diverse leaders from across all industries to collaborate, network, learn and exchange ideas.

“Forbes chose Ohio for its iconic Under 30 Summits because of recent, significant economic momentum we and our partners have recently built in the state,” J.P. Nauseef, JobsOhio president and CEO said in the press release. “The strong relationship developed between JobsOhio and Forbes over the last several months will highlight Ohio’s value proposition as a preferred location for business and top talent both nationally and globally.”

According to Forbes’ statement, another reason Ohio was selected is because of its rich history of innovation and entrepreneurship.

“Our goal with the next Under 30 Summit is to help spotlight Ohio’s talented workforce and ample opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors. We’re confident that Ohio’s entrepreneurial spirit will be felt on the world’s main stage,” said Randall Lane, chief content officer of Forbes and the creator of the Under 30 franchise.

Ohio is attracting, retaining, and expanding business and talent across the state, such as Intel’s recent decision to invest $20 billion in two new semiconductor chip factories, support of a new generation of electric vehicles, and cutting-edge computer chips, according to Forbes.

Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted attended the Forbes press conference Thursday at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and spoke out about Ohio continuing to be a state on the rise.

“Ohio will have a platform to highlight the success story that we have created in this state to the entire nation and world,” Husted said from the stage. “Ohio is a state on the rise, it’s been noted, but in the EV space in automatic flight and driving systems. I mentioned health care, but biotech, gene therapy, cutting-edge research, it’s going on right here in Ohio and those initiatives are being commercialized to improve the quality of life for people all over the planet,” Husted said.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine also commented that this event is going to welcome some of the brightest young talents in the nation to the Buckeye State to collaborate and share concepts.

“Talented Ohioans and their ideas have been drivers of our state and national economy. Forbes’ Under 30 Summits will provide an opportunity to spotlight our one-of-a-kind creativity and collaboration here in Ohio while welcoming some of the nation’s brightest young talent to our state,” Governor DeWine said in the press release.

Forbes encourages Ohioans to sign up for updates at a dedicated Under 30 link on its website to stay in the know as more details emerge about this event.
