A new report alleges that multiple agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have “lost confidence” in the ability of Director Christopher Wray to continue carrying out his duties without any bias or political motivation, and want to see him step down.

As reported by Breitbart, whistleblower attorney and former FBI agent Kurt Siuzdak has said that multiple agents have come to him privately, telling him that they “feel like the director has lost control of the bureau.”

“‘How does this guy survive? He’s leaving. He’s got to leave,’” Siuzdak added, paraphrasing the sentiments expressed by many whistleblowers.

The dissatisfaction with Wray comes after the first known case of actual discipline being carried out against a top agent in response to allegations of political bias. Former senior agent Timothy Thibault left the bureau last week, with some saying he was fired while Thibault himself claims to have retired willingly.

Thibault had been accused of numerous acts of misconduct, including deliberately suppressing efforts to investigate Hunter Biden’s corrupt activities, inflating so-called “domestic terrorism” numbers, and mishandling cases related to potential election fraud. Thibault was allegedly seen being escorted out of the FBI building after his termination.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has also claimed to have spoken with FBI whistleblowers. Grassley commented on Thibault’s departure, declaring that his conduct “casts a shadow over all of the bureau’s work that he was involved in.”

“Political bias should have no place at the FBI,” Grassley continued, “and the effort to revive the FBI’s credibility can’t stop with his exit.”

Wray has faced numerous calls to resign for his bureau’s mishandling of numerous other major cases in recent years. In 2018, then-Governor Rick Scott (R-Fla.) called for Wray to step down after the FBI failed to follow up on a tip about Nikolas Cruz, the deranged individual who went on to carry out a mass shooting at the Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. In 2020, then-Congressman Doug Collins (R-Ga.) called for Wray’s resignation due to his handling of the widely-debunked “Russian collusion” allegations against President Donald Trump.

Most recently, the FBI has faced severe backlash for its late-night raid of President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, which has been widely condemned as a politically-motivated operation carried out on the orders of Joe Biden, in anticipation of a future run for president by Trump in 2024.
