The National Border Patrol Council, which represents the Border Patrol’s roughly 18,000 agents and support personnel, endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson to become Arizona’s governor.

The group, which lobbies heavily for border security, opted to support Robson in the GOP primary instead of contender Kari Lake.

“The National Border Patrol Council is deeply familiar with Arizona’s border security challenges and has closely studied each of its candidates for governor. After careful consideration of the candidates and their plans, the National Border Patrol Council is proud to endorse Karrin Taylor Robson as Arizona’s next governor,” said Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council. “Karrin has a tough, six-point plan to finish the Wall and deliver the necessary manpower, surveillance technology and resources to secure the border and keep Arizonans safe. Anyone can talk tough, but Karrin has the experience and conservative track record we can trust to get the job done.”

As highlighted by the group, Robson’s plan to secure the border has been highlighted multiple times by individuals supporting the businesswoman.

The plan includes six parts:

  1. Surge National Guard to the border
  2. Call the Arizona Legislature into an emergency session
  3. Construct border wall wherever possible
  4. Bolster the Border Strike Force and local law enforcement partners
  5. Cut the funding of any county, city or town that enacts a sanctuary policy
  6. Enter a compact with border and other states in order to share National Guard and other resources, collaborate on intelligence-gathering

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have turned their back on the brave men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol, so it is up to the states to help stem the flow of drugs and human trafficking across our border,” Taylor Robson responded. “The time for talk is over. I am so proud to have the support of the National Border Patrol Council in this fight to secure our border and a safe future for families in Arizona and across our country.”

The GOP primary will take place on August 2nd.
