Survey: Nearly 25 Percent of American Expatriates Have Considered Renouncing Citizenship Due to Tax Burden
STATE AND LOCAL NEWS THAT MATTERS
The IRS has its claws in expats worldwide and it is hugely burdensome to basically have to file and pay income taxes twice with the help of a cross border accountant under threat of severe penalties. The US is one of the very few countries in the world that hunt down citizens worldwide.
Renouncing, though burdensome and onerous it itself, is the better option in the long run for those with no intention of repatriating. A US passport used to be golden but now is more of a liability, alas. The desiccated husk in the WH has not helped matters with his mere months in office and already destroying the country. America is toast and the world will suffer.
