Several Minnesotans opened up about the harms of COVID-19 mandates during a press conference this week on a GOP-backed bill that would protect residents from “unconstitutional and medically irresponsible COVID-19 vaccine mandates.”
Vaccine nightmare
Suzanna Newell held back tears as she described how her health dramatically changed within 30 hours of taking a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine on April 13, 2021. The once-active triathlete who had no underlying health conditions is now in constant debilitating pain, unable to perform even the simplest tasks.
“My primary doctor filled out the Pfizer paperwork and said my symptoms are from the vaccine. I’ve yet to hear from Pfizer. This is not a pandemic of the unvaccinated; this is a pandemic of trauma,” Newell said.

One year later, Newell said her symptoms have worsened. Newell was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy, an autoimmune disease, and cardiovagal antigenic dysfunction.
During the press conference, Kate Zerby said she too developed unexplained health conditions after receiving the jab.
“I was later found to have heart enlargement and atrial fibrillation that I never had before, an abrupt change that my doctor felt, along with everything I had been dealing with, had to have come from the vaccine. She told me, ‘Thank God you didn’t take the second one,’” Zerby said.
As for six-year-old Milo Edberg, he was diagnosed with myocarditis after receiving the COVID shot. Milo’s story was first featured in Alpha News in January. Milo was born prematurely, but he was walking and alert up until he received the COVID-19 vaccine.
“The doctors kept pushing me, [saying] he’s at high risk, so you have to get the vaccine,” said Carrie Edberg, Milo’s mom. “I wasn’t really wanting to get it because I felt like it came on too quickly; it was made too quickly. We didn’t know the side effects, but I went against my gut and told the doctor let’s do it. Unfortunately, it didn’t do well for him.”
Several other residents shared the horrific results of doing what they were told was “safe and effective.” Many had examples of health problems that emerged not only from the COVID-19 vaccine but other drugs, too.
Protecting citizens from COVID-19 mandates
“We’re calling upon the governor on a bipartisan basis to participate in this,” said Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe. “There’s concern whether you’re pro-vax or anti-vax or for health care freedom. We believe mandates, one size fits all, should not be the agenda.”
Gruenhagen introduced a bill last month that would protect citizens from COVID-19 mandates.
HF 2348 outlines a “vaccine bill of rights” to prohibit coercive mandates for “experimental vaccines,” promote informed consent and medical choice, improve health care providers’ reporting to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), and ban discrimination against the unvaccinated.
“Establishment of a COVID-19 vaccine bill of rights is a much-needed measure to protect innocent consumers from predatory, profit-based agencies who shamelessly peddle these experimental and liability-free shots,” said Patti Carroll of the Vaccine Safety Council of Minnesota.
“Federal agency heads now admit that vaccine mandates are not protecting Americans from COVID-19. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky and Dr. Anthony Fauci admit that vaccinated people are as likely to spread COVID-19 as the unvaccinated,” added Gruenhagen.
Vaccine injury reports
According to VAERS reports, between December 2020 and April 8, 2022 there have been 17,302 reports of adverse events related to the jab in Minnesota alone. According to Wayne Rohde, a Minnesota-based author who wrote “The Vaccine Court,” 75% to 85% of vaccine injury reports are entered by clinicians.
“I’ve talked to well over 500 nurses and respiratory therapists … one fell apart emotionally, on the phone, screaming, crying, swearing … of how bad it is of what’s going on in the hospitals — that many of these COVID patients are actually COVID vaccine injured patients,” said Rep. Shane Mekeland, R-Clear Lake.
Multiple people said they have shared their vaccine injury stories with staff members in Gov. Tim Walz’s office but have not received any response.
Rep. Eric Lucero, R-St. Michael, said he has received many similar communications, which is why he is supporting the bill.
“After receiving thousands of communications over the last several years from good people negatively impacted by abusive COVID-19 government mandates, it has become crystal clear the establishment of a vaccine recipient bill of rights is desperately needed to protect innocent people against coercion and discrimination,” he said in a statement.
Gruenhagen’s bill was referred to the House Health Finance and Policy Committee for a hearing but has not advanced out of the committee process yet.
Alpha News reached out to the governor’s office for comment but did not receive a response.
