Former President Donald Trump on Thursday blasted Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and reinforced his support for GOP challenger David Perdue.
Additionally, the former president connected Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to an effort to remove Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA-14) from the ballot.
Recently, a judge allowed a contest to proceed to remove Greene from the ballot because of her role in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. The group is utilizing a section of the Fourteenth Amendment that details individuals who “have engaged in insurrection or rebellion” cannot serve in Congress.
Under Georgia law, a contest to a candidate’s qualifications may be filed with the state, giving Raffensperger the final determination.
“The Governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, and Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, perhaps in collusion with the Radical Left Democrats, have allowed a horrible thing to happen to a very popular Republican, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She is now going through hell in their attempt to unseat her, just more of an election mess in Georgia, including the fact that they will still allow easily corruptible Ballot Boxes for all to cheat with, and have not been able to get a little thing called “Signature Verification” approved,” Trump said in the statement.
Furthermore, Trump argued that Perdue would have a better chance at defeating presumptive Democratic nominee Stacey Abrams in the general election.
“Brian Kemp should be voted out of office – vote for David Perdue. REMEMBER, Brian Kemp will never be able to win the General Election against Stacey “The Hoax” Abrams because a large number of Republicans just will not vote for him,” he continued.
Perdue just released a new ad, blaming inflation and high gas prices on Kemp.
Illegals flooding our border. Skyrocketing gas prices. Crippling inflation. The brink of war.
Folks, that all started right here in Georgia when Brian Kemp sold us out and allowed radicals to steal the election.
