Georgia Governor Brian Kemp maintains a solid lead over Republican primary challenger David Perdue, according to a new Fox News poll.
Based on the survey, Kemp has gathered 50 percent of support from GOP primary voters, compared to Perdue’s 39 percent.
“The numbers show Georgia conservatives back our record of keeping GA open, securing our elections, backing law enforcement, & putting hardworking Georgians FIRST! I’ll continue fighting to unite Republicans & ensure we beat Stacey Abrams AGAIN in November,” Kemp said in a tweet.

Despite an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, Perdue’s campaign has been unable to substantially cut into Kemp’s lead. Furthermore, the former president convinced former Democrat Vernon Jones to drop out of the race, an attempt to coalesce support around the former senator.
Kemp’s campaign attacked Perdue’s challenge, arguing the decision helped Democrat Stacey Abrams. Abrams, the likely Democratic nominee, will run against Kemp or Perdue in the general election.
“This poll reflects what we have been seeing on the trail the last few months: Georgia conservatives are backing Governor Kemp’s record of keeping Georgia open for business, signing the No. 1-ranked election integrity law in the country, backing law enforcement and public safety, and putting hardworking Georgians first,” said Cody Hall, Director of Communications and Senior Advisor for Kemp. “At this point, David Perdue’s campaign is nothing more than an in-kind contribution to Stacey Abrams. While the former senator continues to run a failing campaign, Governor Kemp will remain focused on uniting Republicans behind a record of results and beating Abrams this fall.”
The U.S. Senate race showed a dramatically different picture. Herschel Walker, a former NFL running back who also received Trump’s endorsement, continues to dominate his GOP opponents. He leads all other candidates by almost 60 points.
