An Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Monday issued an endorsement to one of her counterparts in Wisconsin.
“I’m proud to endorse my good friend Rebecca Kleefisch,” said Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former press secretary to then-President Donald Trump. “We need strong conservative governors like Rebecca, standing up for our law enforcement, pushing back against the radical Left and their socialist policies, and making sure that craziness coming out of Washington doesn’t change our states.”
“I know Rebecca will do a great job, and that’s why I’m proud to support her,” Huckabee Sanders continued. “I hope that you will donate and sign up to volunteer for her today.”
Huckabee Sanders herself is battling in a Republican primary for the GOP’s gubernatorial nomination in the 2022 election cycle to replace Governor Asa Hutchinson (R) who cannot run again due to term limits.
Kleefisch, whose campaign did not return a comment request, served as lieutenant governor under Governor Scott Walker (R) from 2011 to 2019.
Walker reacted to the endorsement on Twitter.

She faces four opponents in her primary. If she wins, she will square off against incumbent Governor Tony Evers (D), who is finishing his first term in office and looking to be elected to a second.
“Rebecca Kleefisch is a Wisconsin-proud, conservative mom who believes in turning great ideas into reality, regardless of the odds,” her campaign website says.”

Already she’s received endorsements from the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police, the Milwaukee Police Association, and 40 Wisconsin Sheriffs.
Wisconsin’s primary date is August 9.
