Arizona Republican Blake Masters picked up an endorsement on Thursday from the Club for Growth PAC, an outside group that supports conservatives in key elections across the country.
The support from the group will likely provide Masters with outside funding in an attempt to defeat his GOP contender and, potentially, Democrat Senator Mark Kelly.
“Blake Masters is the candidate who can beat liberal Democrat Senator Mark Kelly and send Chuck Schumer and the Democrats into the minority,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh. “Masters will be a champion for economic freedom in the Senate, and Club for Growth PAC looks forward to helping him win the primary and then the general this November.”
In different races around the country, the conservative organization has spent millions to boost its preferred candidates. For example, the group spent at least $750,000 in Ohio to attack the opponents of Republican Senate contender Josh Mandel. In North Carolina, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC-13), also running for the U.S. Senate, received a $10 million commitment from the organization.
“I am thrilled to have earned the endorsement of the Club for Growth. The Club has a fantastic track record. They’re a key player in our fight to take back the Senate this fall, and together we will end crony capitalism and put the market to work for American families,” Masters said in response.

The added support will deepen the resources of the campaign that has already been successful in fundraising, compared to other GOP opponents. In recent financial disclosures, Masters raised more money from supporters than any other Republican and was the only one to raise over $1 million in donations from outside sources.
On top of the endorsement from the Club for Growth and the campaign’s direct fundraising numbers, billionaire Peter Thiel wrote a $10 million check to a super PAC supporting Masters.
