Juan Ciscomani, a candidate running for Arizona’s new Sixth Congressional District, picked up an endorsement from House Republican Whip Steve Scalise.
The announcement from Scalise follows a string of endorsements for Ciscomani, including House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.
“Juan Ciscomani is the kind of conservative fighter we need more of in the United States Congress. Juan will work with us to secure our border, rebuild our economy and stand up for American values. Juan will help us fire Speaker Nancy Pelosi, stop the reckless policies of the Biden-Harris administration, and build a Republican majority that will get our country back on track. I’m proud to support Juan Ciscomani for Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District,” said Scalise.
The Sixth District covers much of southeastern Arizona: parts of Tucson, the United States-Mexico border, and the Arizona-New Mexico border.
“I am grateful to receive Whip Scalise’s endorsement,” added Ciscomani. “Whip Scalise continues to fight back against Pelosi’s radical agenda. And with his leadership, Republicans will take back the House this November. I look forward to joining him!”
In addition to McCarthy and Scalise, Ciscomani picked up support from State Representative Teresa Martinez (R-Marana), describing the candidate as someone “who understands our community and can win this November!”

The Arizona native also recently expanded his campaign operations. He hired Becky Freeman and Jonathan Bleacher to serve as the campaign manager and field operations director, respectively.
In the Republican primary, Ciscomani is taking on State Senator Kelly Townsend (R-Apache Junction). She decided to jump in the congressional competition after she was drawn into a competitive race against State Sen. Wendy Rogers (R-Flagstaff).
Notably, Townsend lives in Apache Junction, which is not represented by the Sixth Congressional District. By running in the new district, she avoids a match against Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05), who serves the area where she resides.
