Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) endorsed Dave McCormick in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate, joining the candidate on the campaign trail throughout Pennsylvania.
In his original endorsement, Cruz labeled the army veteran as someone who “will fight back against the woke, liberal agenda.”
“Dave is a decorated Army veteran and a business leader who will fight back against the woke, liberal agenda that Biden and the Democrats are pushing,” he said.
I’m proud to endorse @DaveMcCormickPA for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.

After the endorsement, Cruz joined McCormick on the campaign trail. The duo hosted a rally in Coplay, Pennsylvania. The event attracted hundreds of potential supporters.
“What I look for when supporting a candidate is a strong foundation that knows conservative values & will defend our constitution. But what I want more than anything is backbone – that’s Dave,” the senator said at the event.

Cruz’s endorsement adds to a list of other supporters that McCormick has gathered in the short time since his official campaign launch. Earlier this year, Sean Parnell, who received an endorsement from President Trump but suspended his campaign for the position, threw his support behind the former hedge fund CEO.
“@DaveMcCormickPA served our great nation in combat. He was willing to lay down his life for all of us. He knows what it means to serve something greater than himself. He’s a fighter. He’s a leader. I’m proud to endorse him for Senate in Pennsylvania,” the former Senate candidate said in a tweet.
He has also hired Trump’s former advisers Hope Hicks and Stephen Miller to serve on his campaign.
In the contentious primary with multiple contenders, President Trump, who has not offered an endorsement to any active candidate, may boost the potential nominee. Dina Powell McCormick, the candidate’s wife, worked as a deputy national security adviser under the former commander-in-chief.
