Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday challenged Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich for the manner that he is “looking into” the 2020 election.
According to Trump, Brnovich has not taken enough action to investigate irregularities presented by the findings of the audit of 2.1 million ballots in Maricopa County.
“Whatever happened to the Rigged and Stolen Arizona Presidential Election that is being investigated, or maybe the words should properly be “looked at,” by Attorney General Mark Brnovich?” Trump asked.
After the conclusion of an audit of ballots, Brnovich pledged to look into the findings.
“The Arizona Senate’s report that was released on Friday raises some serious questions regarding the 2020 election,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich at the time. “Arizonans can be assured our office will conduct a thorough review of the information we receive.”
As a part of the investigation, the attorney general’s office requested additional information from the secretary of state’s office regarding the maintenance of voter registration lists.
Citing that “many of the issues identified” in the recent forensic audit pointed to voter registration lists, the attorney general’s Election Integrity Unity (EIU) asked for material to investigate.
Since then, multiple individuals have been charged with allegedly voting illegally in the election.
Kenneth Russell Nelson, of Tucson, was charged with one count of False Registration and three counts of Illegal Voting, for illegally registering to vote and casting a vote while he was an inmate at the Pima County Jail.
Additionally, Manuel Aguirre of Sahuarita was indicted on one count of false registration and one count of illegal voting, while also serving time in the Pima County Jail.
“The people of Arizona are anxiously awaiting the decision of the Attorney General. They know what really went on during that Election!” Trump added.
