Chris Daughtry and his band, Daughtry, have postponed their upcoming shows after the sudden death of Daughtry’s 25-year-old stepdaughter on Friday. According to PEOPLE, Daughtry’s stepdaughter, Hannah Daughtry, was found dead in her Fentress County, Tennessee home Friday by local police.
Chris Daughtry and his band were performing around the country for their Dearly Beloved Tour before the tragic events occurred.
A representative for the singer said in a statement to PEOPLE on Friday, “Due to the unexpected death of Chris and Deanna Daughtry’s daughter, Hannah, all currently scheduled shows for the coming week for Daughtry have been postponed.”
Both Chris Daughtry and his wife Deanna Daughtry have reacted on social media regarding the unexpected death of their daughter.
On Instagram, Deanna Daughtry posted a handful of photos of her daughter with the caption reading in part, “My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah. Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah.”
Deanna Daughtry also revealed in her Instagram post that they are “awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death” and that their “hearts are broken.”
Chris Daughtry also released a statement on the social media platform, saying in part, “I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken. Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply.”
Hannah Daughtry and her brother Griffin Daughtry are Deanna Daughtry ‘s children from a previous relationship while Chris Daughtry and Deanna Daughtry share twins Adalynn Rose Daughtry and Noah James Daughtry.
Chris Daughtry rose to fame after finishing in fourth place on “American Idol” in Season 5 and has since been nominated for four Grammys.
