Georgia U.S. Senate Republican candidate Herschel Walker leads incumbent U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) by five points in a new poll, roughly 46 percent to 41 percent.
This, according to a new poll that Creative Destruction (CD) Media published Saturday.
Big Data Poll Director Rich Baris referred to Georgia’s U.S. Senate races earlier this year. Former Republican U.S. senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue lost to Warnock and to U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA), respectively.
“Both Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate in Georgia lost on January 5 because they failed to generate enough turnout among the base in Central and South / Coastal Georgia regions,” Baris reportedly said.
“Democrats didn’t win those races. Republicans lost them by not defending the former president. Herschel Walker is not suffering from the same disadvantages.”
CD Media also reported the following:
• “Nearly two-thirds of white voters (65.0 percent) chose Walker, as did slightly more than one in 10 black voters (10.1 percent). White voters represent slightly more than six in 10 voters in the Georgia electorate, while non-white voters combined typically represent just under four in 10.”
• “Warnock leads among urban voters 56.2 percent to 29.2 percent, while Walker dominates among rural voters 62.6 percent to 22.3 percent. The two candidates are statistically tied in the suburbs at 44 percent.”
• “By region, the Democrat leads only in Atlanta Metro, 58.2 percent to 29.4 percent. The Republican leads in the North (53.3 percent to 29.4 percent), Central Georgia (51.4 percent to 33.8 percent), and the Coast / South (48.5 percent to 35.4 percent). The Atlanta Suburbs are statistically tied with Walker leading by just over 1 point, 46.0 percent to 44.5 percent.”
• “Unaffiliated voters backed Walker over Warnock by about 2 points, 37.6 percent to 36.0 percent, with roughly one in 4 (26.5 percent) undecided. Third Party voters backed Warnock 30.8 percent to 21.6 percent, with nearly half (47.6 percent) undecided.”
A Trafalgar Group poll earlier this month showed Walker in the lead for next year’s midterm election. According to Breitbart News, the poll shows Walker would secure 75.7 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.
Members of the Georgia Democratic Party sent out a series of fundraising emails earlier this month warning that Warnock could lose reelection next year.
