U.S. Representative Jody Hice (R-GA-10), running to replace Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger next year, has announced a statewide “Election Integrity Fly Around Tour” later this month.
Hice has scheduled the tour for September 14 through September 16, according to an email he sent supporters this week.
“Over the course of three days, I will be visiting every region in Georgia to share our plans to secure our elections, aggressively pursue voter fraud, and restore confidence that each vote is counted and counted accurately,” Hice wrote.
“Exact locations and times will be distributed soon, but for now I hope you’ll mark your calendars for this exciting tour.”
According to Hice’s email, he has scheduled events on the following dates and in the following cities and counties:
• Tuesday, September 14, 2021: Savannah (Chatham County); Brunswick (Glynn County); Valdosta (Lowndes County); Albany (Dougherty County)
• Wednesday, September 15, 2021: Dallas (Paulding County); Dalton (Whitfield County); Lawrenceville (Gwinnett County); Athens (Clarke County)
• Thursday, September 16, 2021: Augusta (Richmond County); Peachtree City (Fayette County); Columbus (Muscogee County); Macon (Bibb County)
Former U.S. President Donald Trump, in a written statement, promptly endorsed Hice’s candidacy in March.
“One of our most outstanding Congressmen, Jody Hice, has announced he is running for secretary of state in the great state of Georgia. Jody has been a steadfast fighter for conservative Georgia values and is a staunch ally of the America First agenda. Unlike the current Georgia secretary of state, Jody leads out front with integrity,” Trump wrote at the time.
“I have 100 percent confidence in Jody to fight for free, fair, and secure elections in Georgia, in line with our beloved U.S. Constitution. Jody will stop the fraud and get honesty into our elections! Jody loves the people of Georgia, and he has my complete and total endorsement.”
Hice, in a statement on his campaign’s website at the time, said “free and fair elections are the foundation of our country.”
“What Brad Raffensperger did was create cracks in the integrity of our elections, which I wholeheartedly believe individuals took advantage of in 2020. Though I am encouraged to see the General Assembly taking it upon themselves to address some of the glaring issues in our elections, Georgia deserves a secretary of state who will own the responsibilities of the office,” Hice wrote.
“If elected, I will instill confidence in our election process by upholding the Georgia Constitution, enforcing meaningful reform, and aggressively pursue those who commit voter fraud.”
