Former U.S. Republican Congressman Doug Collins is scheduled to launch his own talk radio program Monday, March 1, and the show will feature guests local to Georgia as well as guests who hold national stature.

The Doug Collins Show will broadcast from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. every weekday on the Georgia-based WMLB (1690 AM). People outside of the Atlanta-listening area may also listen to the show through the John Fredericks Radio Show app.

Collins discussed the format Tuesday with The Georgia Star News.

“We will discuss conservatism getting back to its roots and basically understanding that, right now, the left has designated that conservative thought is not valid thought. In fact, you will probably have to go all the way back to the 1940s and the 1950s to see a time when the mainstream media, the academics, and everybody believed that conservatism was not valid thought,” Collins said.

“What we are going to do is just like the Buckleys and others of old. We are going to start pushing back and saying it is conservative viewpoints that actually make a difference in people’s lives, and we are going to do that through guests, interviews and discussion and call-in. We’re also going to have some fun with it. We will have a segment called ‘Pop Culture Friday’ where we talk about movies, music, and show how they are affecting our lives.”

Collins said the show will originate out of his Georgia law office, although he can broadcast from elsewhere if and when he has to travel. He said now is a great time to launch a show, especially since his program will compete against others in the Atlanta market “not presenting the conservative perspective.”

“What you will get out of it is the latest interviews with some of the leading national figures across the country and from my time on Capitol Hill,” Collins said.

“We are going to talk to leaders of the [U.S.] House and [U.S.] Senate and state leaders from Georgia. We are also going to hit into thought leaders from the entertainment community and from other areas of conservative life to give us a different perspective so that we as conservatives can be proud of our conservative voice — and how we can help change America.”

Three Virginia-based radio stations will also carry The Doug Collins Show across that state.

Collins served as the U.S. representative for Georgia’s Ninth congressional district from 2013 to 2021.
