Steve Bannon, former Trump White House chief strategist and host of War Room, discussed the New Hampshire GOP presidential primary results on Wednesday, particularly the energy surrounding candidate Nikki Haley.

Former President Donald Trump defeated Haley in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday by an 11-point margin.

Despite acknowledging Trump as the victor, Haley spoke to a room full of supporters on Tuesday evening, declaring she had a “great night.”

“God is so good,” Haley said. “Thank you New Hampshire for the love, the kindness and support, and a great night here tonight, thank you so much…This race is far from over. There are dozens of states left to go, and the next one is my sweet state of South Carolina. At one point in this campaign, there were 14 of us running and we were at 2 percent in the polls. Well, I’m a fighter and I’m scrappy. And now we’re the last ones standing next to Donald Trump.”

During Wednesday’s edition of War Room, Bannon compared Haley’s speech to former President Bill Clinton’s premature victory speech in the New Hampshire primary in 1992, where he called himself the “comeback kid” despite losing by 10 points.

“If Bill Clinton had stuck around like some stiff and waited for all of the real results – the votes – to be counted in New Hampshire, he would not have had any momentum coming out of New Hampshire, would not have turned around his campaign, and would not be the president of the United States,” Bannon said.

Bannon highlighted Fox News’ coverage of the New Hampshire primary results, which heavily revolved around Haley’s “strong” performance and questioning whether Trump has enough “growth potential” to be the nominee.

“That wasn’t a Nikki Haley victory – 75 percent of her people are operative Democrats, people who are never going to vote for a Republican candidate in the general, including Nikki Haley. She got virtually no votes from people who are actually going to vote for any Republican candidate in November,” Bannon said.

“This is a complete and total scam, but the Murdochs and the donors now have her as a vessel…But remember, it’s not about beating Trump. What they want is a vessel, what they want is an instrument…They do not want Trump having a second MAGA term,” Bannon added.

Bannon continued by saying Haley’s donors will “reload her with tons of money to make sure that she can go through all the way to the convention or at least through Super Tuesday but still hang around.”

“Nikki Haley has virtually no support from people who are going to vote Republican in November. And to the Murdochs, and the lords of easy money on Wall Street, the puppet masters and pay masters of Nikki Haley – it doesn’t matter. This is what they want,” Bannon added.

Bannon concluded by saying the enemy of Trump is not just Biden; it’s the “enemy inside the wire.”
