Former President Donald Trump has maintained a double-digit lead (39 percent to 24 percent) over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis among likely Iowa GOP Caucus voters, according to a new National Research Inc. poll commissioned by American Greatness.

Trump’s current 15-point lead over DeSantis is within the survey’s 4.38 percent margin of error of his previous 18-point lead conducted last month.

The poll shows that South Carolina Senator Tim Scott had a marginal bump since the last survey and undecideds have increased by six-points.

A fundamental issue for Governor DeSantis is that those voters who are favorable to him are splitting their vote between DeSantis and Trump. Among those who have a favorable opinion of both candidates, Trump holds a 16-point lead. Also, Trump holds an 8-point lead among voters who have been visited by the DeSantis campaign.

Voters continue to view Trump as stronger on the economy, the fight the fight against the progressive left, and on empathy. The candidates remain close on the question of which one is better able to defeat Joe Biden.
