Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday revealed that he agreed to debate rules from ABC News ahead of his presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris next month.
The debate will take place on Sept. 10, in Philadelphia. It will be moderated by ABC News’ “World News Tonight” anchor and managing editor David Muir and ABC News Live “Prime” anchor Linsey Davis and will be the first debate between Trump and Harris. The first presidential debate in May was between Trump and President Joe Biden.
Trump said the debate rules will be the same as CNN’s, and candidates will not be allowed to bring “cheat sheets” or notes.Â
“I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social. “It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.Â
“We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a ‘fair and equitable’ Debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!),” Trump added.
Trump said a different third debate is also possible either through Fox News on Sept. 4, or NBC News in the future. But Harris has not agreed to either debate so far.Â
The Sept. 10 debate will take place at the National Constitution Center, near Independence Hall, where the historic Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. The debate will air at 9 p.m. Eastern, and will be available for streaming on the ABC News Live website and channel, along with the streaming services Disney+, and Hulu.
