A new survey released Friday shows that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump is now in a statistical tie with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
The Napolitan News Service survey found Harris has 44% of the vote, compared to 43% for Trump.
The survey among 2,000 registered voters was conducted Aug. 5-7, about two weeks after President Biden said he would not seek reelection, opening the door for Harris. The survey’s margin of error is 2.2%, which is within Harris’ one-percentage-point lead, making the race a statistical dead heat.
Last week, a Scott Rasmussen national survey found Harris leading by five among registered voters (47% to 42%).
“These latest results could suggest that the initial Harris bounce has come to an end,” Napolitan News Service said.
