Bernie Moreno, the Republican nominee in the Ohio U.S. Senate race, condemned the Biden administration’s executive order to allow illegal alien spouses and children to apply for lawful permanent residence without leaving the country.
To be eligible under Biden’s Tuesday executive order, “noncitizens” must have resided in the United States for 10 or more years and be legally married to a U.S. citizen while satisfying all applicable legal requirements as of June 17, 2024.
The White House estimates that Biden’s executive order will be eligible to approximately 500,000 spouses of U.S. citizens and approximately 50,000 noncitizen children under the age of 21 whose parent is married to a U.S. citizen.
Unlike open border advocate Sherrod Brown, I believe we should be deporting illegals, not giving them mass amnesty. pic.twitter.com/2zKcNW1pw1

Moreno reacted to the president’s executive order by calling out his opponent, incumbent U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), for not pushing back against what is being called a “mass amnesty” plan.
“We have millions of illegals coming into our country every year because of the open border policies of Joe Biden and Sherrod Brown. We should be deporting illegals, not giving them a mass amnesty,” Moreno said.
“If Sherrod Brown cared about defending America and protecting the jobs and wages of our citizens, he would be standing up to Biden to stop this invasion, but throughout his decades in office, he has repeatedly supported amnesty for illegals,” Moreno added. “Sherrod doesn’t represent the people of Ohio in the Senate, he represents criminal illegals and the big corporations who want their cheap labor.”
Former President Donald Trump, who endorsed Moreno in the Ohio U.S. Senate race, also denounced Biden’s executive order on Tuesday.
“Biden’s mass amnesty plan will undoubtedly lead to a greater surge in migrant crime, cost taxpayers millions of dollars they cannot afford, overwhelm public services, and steal Social Security and Medicare benefits from American seniors to fund benefits for illegals — draining the programs Americans paid into their entire working lives. Biden has created another invitation for illegal immigration through his mass amnesty order,” Trump said.
