The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Thursday confirmed to The Tennessee Star that it is aware of a viral video circulating the web in which a transgender activist encourages transgender people in Tennessee to commit acts of violence.
“We are aware of the post, but don’t have any further information or insight to offer,” said TBI spokesman Josh DeVine.
The video, initially posted on TikTok, was amplified by the popular Twitter account LibsOfTikTok.

“Trans people in Tennessee, it’s time to f***in’ fight,” says the video’s creator. “Trans allies in Tennessee, it’s time to f***in’ fight. Trans women, if they lock you up for identifying as a woman, fight. Resist. You’re gonna die anyways. We’re gonna die anyways. It’s time to f***in’ resist.”
There is no law in Tennessee against being transgender.
“Fight them. Hurt them,” the video’s creator says. “If they put their hands on you, beat them. We are at an attack. It’s time to fight back. Trans people in Tennessee, trans men, trans women, non-binary, fight! If they try to arrest you or have you arrested for a felony for existing, beat them!”
The creator of the video then instructs trans people to band together, carry weapons and attack police officers.
“If they lock you in prison, f**k up the guards,” the video’s creator says. “Bust out of prison. Join other trans people. It’s time we organize a prison bust in Tennessee, guys.”
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) did not return a comment request.
The TikTok video’s amplification comes in the wake of a mass shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, wherein transgender male (biological female) Audrey Elizabeth Hale killed three children and three adults Monday.
Thursday, a violent mob of anti-gun activists stormed the Tennessee Capitol building gallery, attempting to push its way through the doors to the Tennessee House chamber. State troopers who guard the Tennessee Capitol were able to control the unruly mob before it gained access to the chamber.
