Former President Barack Obama told allies that President Joe Biden should reevaluate the viability of his candidacy, according to a new report.

Obama reportedly told his allies in recent days that Biden’s chances of reelection are greatly diminished, and he should reevaluate his candidacy altogether in light of tanking poll numbers and dissent from Congressional Democrats, according to multiple people briefed on his thinking who spoke with the Washington Post.

However, publicly, he has maintained that the final decision is Biden’s to make and that his influence over Biden’s decision-making isn’t decisive.
