Ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s campaign account paid a polling firm nearly $68,000 earlier this year to test his popularity as he plots a political comeback — including eyeing a run for New York City mayor

Cuomo, the former three-term governor who resigned in disgrace in August 2021 amid a slew of sexual misconduct claims that he denies, paid the firm Expedition Strategies $67,739 on January 20.

The purpose? “Polling costs,” the Friends of Andrew Cuomo campaign committee said in its semi-annual report filed with the state Board of Elections.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order aimed at improving outcomes in higher education by holding college and university accreditors more accountable. "Accreditors – the gatekeepers that decide which colleges and universities can access over $100 billion in annual Federal student loans and Pell Grants – have routinely approved low-quality institutions, ultimately failing students, families, and American taxpayers," the order reads. "Accreditors have failed to ensure quality, with a national six-year undergraduate graduation rate of just 64% in 2020."
