Alex Triantafilou, the chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, made a statement on Tuesday prior to President Joe Biden‘s State of the Union address.

Triantafilou said that “anything short of an apology during tonight’s State of the Union will be unacceptable to working Ohio families.”

At 9 p.m. EST President Joe Biden will give the annual address before a joint session of Congress.

This is Biden’s second State of the Union address as he begins his third year in office after creating an environment of high inflation, financial difficulties, an escalating border crisis, an FBI investigation into the discovery at various locations of classified documents Biden had retained from his time as a U.S. senator and vice president, and most recently, a delayed reaction to what experts have called a surveillance operation by China as a “rogue weather balloon” was allowed to traverse the entirety of the continental United States last week.

According to Triantafilou, during Biden’s time in office, he has wreaked havoc on the nation.

“Joe Biden’s war on energy, runaway spending and open borders have devastated our country the past two years,” Triantafilou said.

According to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, 41 percent of Americans say they’re worse off financially today than when Biden took office, which is the highest percentage for any president in 37 years.

A separate Primerica analysis based on a poll of households with incomes between $30,000 and $100,000 reports that 72 percent of middle-class families think their salaries lag behind the cost of living, up from 68 percent a year ago.

Since Biden became president, many of the millions of illegal immigrants who have crossed the border since the start of 2021, over 600,000 have been released in the country without being detained or given a court date; thousands are even no longer being tracked by a program created for that purpose.

Before an anticipated declaration that he will formally seek re-election, the president will have the opportunity to address the nation during the State of the Union address about where he believes the country is at, where it is headed, and what his priorities are. Two-thirds of Americans, however, say that the country is headed in the wrong direction under Biden’s leadership. A majority say they disapprove of the job he is doing as president.

The most recent Rasmussen survey shows a 10-point difference between his approval rating of 44 percent and his disapproval rating of 54 percent. The RealClear Politics average places his approval at 44 percent and disapproval at 51 percent.
