The Biden Administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a six-point plan for how to handle the immigration crisis after the end of the successful Trump-era policy of Title 42.

According to CNN, the seven-page outline repeats the false narrative used by the Biden White House that the administration inherited a “broken and dismantled immigration system,” blaming the crisis on the Trump Administration despite President Trump’s success in reducing immigration levels to the lowest points in modern history.

The plan includes such measures as increased resources being sent to the border, improving processing efficiency, implementing greater consequences for illegal crossings, targeting smugglers, working with international countries and organizations, and increasing the role of nonprofit groups in aiding illegals.

The document specifically calls for the hiring of 1,000 additional processing coordinators for the Border Patrol, as well as 2,500 contractors and personnel from various government agencies. The administration also plans to add 10 new “soft-sided facilities” to raise the holding capacity of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) by over one-third. Biden’s CBP has also claimed to have doubled its transportation capacity for detained illegals.

“This includes hundreds of flights and bus routes per week to transport detained noncitizens to less crowded Border Patrol sectors for processing and to remove or return noncitizens to their home or third countries,” the document claims. “We will continue to scale up our ground and air transportation capabilities in light of potential increases.”

“For noncitizens seeking to evade apprehension, repeat offenders, and those engaging in smuggling efforts, we are increasing referrals for prosecutions,” the outline continues.

Title 42 is a public health policy that gave the federal government even greater authority to deport illegals and reduce immigration levels, both legal and illegal, due to public health concerns. President Donald Trump implemented it in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, pointing out that mass migration increased the risk of spreading the disease. But Biden announced plans to end the successful policy due to his support for an open-borders approach to immigration policy, even despite widespread backlash over the decision to end Title 42.
