A Trafalgar Group poll released Friday found 78.7 percent of likely voters oppose transgender treatments, such as puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, as well as sex-change surgeries for minors.

The poll, conducted in partnership with Convention of States Action from October 8-11, surveyed 1,079 likely 2022 election voters.

Among the respondents, 78.7 percent believe minors should be required to wait until they are of legal adult age to undergo transgender hormone treatments and surgeries, such as elective mastectomies and castrations, while 21.3 percent say underage minors should not have to wait until adulthood.

Additionally, the survey results showed an overwhelming majority of both Independents and Republicans are opposed to transgender medical treatments for minors, while Democrats are divided on the issue.

Of those surveyed, 84.6 percent of Independent voters and 96.8 percent of Republicans say minors should be required to wait until they are adults to legally use puberty blockers and undergo sex-change surgeries, while 15.4 percent and 3.2 percent, respectively, do not believe underage minors should have to wait until adult age.

The poll’s results also found 53.2 percent of Democrats believe minors should have to wait for transgender treatments and surgeries until they are of adult age, while 46.8 percent say they should not be required to wait.

The poll has a margin of error of 2.9 percent with a 95 percent confidence level.

“This polling confirms the obvious—the vast majority of Americans are not on board with the far-left’s sexual agenda, which is seeking to permanently mutilate the young and vulnerable,” said Mark Meckler, president of the Convention of States. “The idea that young people have to be 16 to drive, 18 to vote, and 21 to drink, and yet can undergo life-altering medical procedures in middle school defies common sense, and the American people see that clearly.”

“As the Biden Administration refuses to do the right thing for our children and take action to protect them from the horrors of the far-left agenda, it’s imperative that individual states–like what we see happening in Tennessee right now–step up and stand against it,” Meckler added.

Author and journalist Matt Walsh organized a “rally against gender ideology madness and child mutilation” in Tennessee, which takes place Friday at the State Capitol in Nashville, and features speakers Meckler, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), and Tulsi Gabbard.
