Author and journalist Matt Walsh, who broke the story on how Vanderbilt University Medical Center was caught providing transgender surgeries to minors, announced that he is holding a rally at the Tennessee State Capitol to “end child mutilation, sterilization, and abuse in Tennessee hospitals and beyond.”

The Rally to End Child Mutilation will take place on Saturday, October 21 at 4 p.m. near the Tennessee State Capitol (War Memorial Plaza) in Nashville.

Speakers at the event will include The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, Majority Leader for the Tennessee House of Representatives William Lamberth (R-Portland); former Tennessee congressional candidate Robby Starbuck along with wife and founder of Freedom Forever, Landon Starbuck; and more yet to be announced.

The rally is free to attend; however, those interested in going are encouraged to RSVP  in order for organizers to estimate expected attendance.

When Walsh broke the news about Vanderbilt’s gender clinic, he told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson at the time, “We know for a fact … that [at] Vanderbilt they perform double mastectomies on minor girls … They give [children] irreversible hormone drugs that change their bodies permanently.”

In response, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee called for an investigation into the matter, saying in a statement, “The ‘pediatric transgender clinic’ at Vanderbilt University Medical Center raises serious moral, ethical and legal concerns. We should not allow permanent, life-altering decisions that hurt children or policies that suppress religious liberties, all for the purpose of financial gain. We have to protect Tennessee children, and this warrants a thorough investigation.”

Additionally, in a letter to Vanderbilt, 62 Tennessee state House members demanded the institution stop mutilating children.

“The Vanderbilt Pediatric Transgender Clinic’s practices qualify as nothing less than abuse. We, the elected representative body of the state of Tennessee, ask members of the VUMC Board of Directors to take immediate action by halting all permanent gender transition surgeries being performed on minor children,” the letter states.
